Pediatric Dental Procedures

In pedo, we like to keep things simple. There are four different procedures that we think you should be familiar with. Sealants are used to prevent decay, fillings are used for small to moderate decay, stainless steel crowns and nerve treatment are done when the decay is deep or extends into the nerve, and extractions are necessary when baby teeth are infected or close to falling out on their own.

We encourage you to learn more about these procedures and how we approach them.

If you’re unsure of how to approach your child’s first treatment visit, simply say, “We’ll have to ask Dr. Kady.” Avoid words such as needle, shot, pulling teeth, and drill. Dr. Kady strives to communicate not only the parental level but also the child’s. Whenever you have questions, just ask. Same goes for your little one.
