Comprising 97% of dental enamel, hydroxyapatite (HAP) is the primary mineral that structures our teeth. By applying this professional-grade, fluoride-free varnish, we provide a direct infusion of essential building blocks, empowering teeth to naturally repair and fortify themselves.

Nano-hydroxyapatite particles bond directly to enamel, rebuilding weak spots and protecting against decay.

The Mineral Your Child's Teeth Are Made Of

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) is the natural mineral that makes up 97% of tooth enamel. When we apply it as a professional varnish, we're essentially giving teeth a direct supply of the building blocks they need to repair and strengthen themselves.

Unlike traditional fluoride varnish, nano-hydroxyapatite is non-toxic if swallowed, making it an ideal choice for young children who are still learning to spit. It's the same substance naturally found in their teeth.

  • Works Like Your Own Enamel HAP particles are identical to the mineral already in your child's teeth, so the body accepts them naturally and integrates them into weakened areas.
  • Up to 24-Hour Protection Most often we use varnish that forms an extended-release film that stays in contact with enamel for hours, delivering continuous remineralization long after the appointment.
  • Spreads Through Saliva No need to coat every tooth individually — the varnish diffuses throughout the oral cavity via saliva for complete coverage in one quick application.

Big Benefits for Little Smiles

From the first tooth through the teen years, HAP varnish is a gentle, powerful way to keep kids' teeth healthy at every stage.

  • Stops Cavities Before They Start - HAP varnish can reverse early white-spot lesions — the first sign of decay — before they become full cavities that need more invasive treatments.
  • Safe to Swallow - No stress if your little one swallows some. Unlike fluoride, nano-hydroxyapatite is completely non-toxic — it simply adds minerals already found in the body.
  • Reduces Sensitivity - HAP varnish forms a protective layer over exposed dentin to ease cold sensitivity, making mealtimes and brushing more comfortable for sensitive kids.
  • Protects New Permanent Teeth - Newly erupted permanent teeth are more porous and vulnerable. HAP varnish strengthens them right from the start when protection matters most.
  • Great for Ortho Patients - Applied around brackets and at debonding, HAP varnish protects enamel throughout orthodontic treatment — a game-changer for braces wearers.
  • Restores Natural Shine - By smoothing and remineralizing the enamel surface, HAP varnish brings back the natural luster of teeth without bleaching agents.

What to Expect At Your Visit

The whole process is quick, comfortable, and kid-friendly. Most children don't even realize it's happening!

Quick & Easy Application - We apply a thin, even film of HAP varnish using a small brush — no needles, no drilling, no discomfort. It takes just a few minutes.

It Sets on Its Own - We don't rinse or suction. The varnish binds to moist enamel and uses saliva to spread naturally — your child can relax, and we're done!

Simple Post-Care - Avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes. Hold off on brushing for 3 hours. Skip acidic drinks for the rest of the day if possible. That's it! It’s so smart, so strong, and so simple.

Regular Touch-Ups - For most kids, we recommend HAP varnish every 3 months at their routine checkup. High-risk patients may benefit from more frequent applications of the Fygg varnish.

Sensitivity Treatment Once weekly for 2–4 weeks, then maintenance as needed.

After Braces / Whitening / Cleaning Single immediate application with a follow-up at 4–6 weeks if needed.

We Get It — You Have Questions

Is it really safe if my toddler swallows it? Yes! Unlike fluoride, nano-hydroxyapatite is non-toxic and safe to swallow. It's the same mineral naturally found in teeth and bones. No need to stress if little ones ingest a bit.

Is it as effective as fluoride varnish? Studies show hydroxyapatite is comparable to fluoride for preventing early decay. It's a great option for families who prefer to avoid fluoride, and can be equally effective with consistent use.

Can my child use HAP toothpaste at home too? Absolutely! Popular options include Boka Kids, RiseWell Kids, and Kinder Karex. Look for "hydroxyapatite" or "nano-hydroxyapatite" listed as the active ingredient on the label.

What age can we start? Safe from the very first tooth! Even infants can benefit. There's no minimum age, which makes it one of the most flexible preventive tools we have for young patients.

Will it make my child's teeth look white or shiny? HAP doesn't bleach teeth, but it does restore enamel's natural luster by smoothing the surface. Many parents notice their child's teeth looking brighter and healthier over time.

Does my child still need to brush and floss? Of course! HAP varnish is a powerful preventive boost, but it works best alongside good daily habits — brushing twice a day, flossing, and a low-sugar diet all work together.
